Expoziția Licitației Quadro #56 / Exhibition of the #56 Quadro Auction

We are pleased to announce the organization of the #56 Quadro Auction. The auction will take place exclusively online, on the gallery's website: www.licitatie.galeriaquadro.ro, between March 13 and 15. We invite you to view the auction exhibition at the gallery's headquarters, 16 Napoca Street, Cluj. The exhibition is open Monday through Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., until March 13. #56 Quadro Auction includes 241 works with starting prices ranging from €30 to €18,000. We present collectors and the general public with a wide selection of valuable works and many curiosities from the point of view of art history. Among the most valuable pieces in the collection are: Flowers by Ștefan Luchian, an early decorative work by the painter (starting price: €9,000), House in Teceu by the founder of the Baia Mare school, Hollósy Simon (starting price: €8,000), Composition by Hans Mattis Teutsch (starting price: €18,000) and Venetian Landscape by Corneliu Baba (starting price: €11,000). Classic modern art from the beginning of the 20th century is still represented by works signed by artists such as Rippl-Rónai József, Ștefan Dimitrescu, Ernst Honigberger, Tipary Dezső, Kimon Loghi, Merész Müller Gyula, and Aurel Băeșu. From the interwar period, important works of art from Transylvania stand out, such as Self-Portrait by Korda Vince (starting price: EUR 2,800), Flower Garden, Cluj by Mund Hugó (starting price: EUR 4,600) and Still Life with Easter Eggs, 1942 by Fülöp Antal Andor (starting price: EUR 4,200). Spectacular pastels by masters such as Balla Géza, Jándi Dávid, Nagy István, Pittner Olivér, and Julius Podlipny highlight a specific and modern segment of art from this region. In the selection of post-war art, we can see works ranging from the non-figurative, such as Florin Maxa's plotter graphics or Corioloan Hora's precious watercolors, to the compositions of Victor Brauner, Suzana Fântânariu, Vasile Kazar, and Finta Edit, to the figurative works by Incze János Dés, Mohy Sándor, Pallos Sch. Jutta, Páll Lajos, Paul Sima, and Mircea Vremir. Among the sculptures, those signed by Jecza Péter and Ion Vlasiu stand out. In the graphic material, we draw attention to the drawings made by Baron Mednyánszky László, Nagy Imre, Eugen Pascu, and Plugor Sándor. The #56 Quadro Auction Catalog can be consulted online on the www.licitatie.galeriaquadro.ro platform.
