Daruri (Offerings)

With Ana Kun & Lucian Barbu
We invite you to explore the exhibition “Daruri/Offerings”, a maximalist dialogue between Ana Kun and Lucian Barbu, translated into bi- and three-dimensional works that occupy the Indecis artist-run space with episodes of visual oversharing. During this guided tour, we will delve together into the artists' creative process, starting from the real conversations in their shared studio to the inner monologues that gave life to these unique works. We will discuss themes such as labor, exploitation, and their relationship with mental health—subjects that inspired the exhibited creations.

Tell us about INDECIS.

Indecis Artist Run is an independent space located in Timișoara, Romania, founded in 2020. As a non-profit, non-hierarchical organization, our aim is to promote and cultivate dynamic relationships between contemporary art and artists of all kinds. The space is dedicated to hosting exhibitions, stimulating artistic production, publishing works, presenting and debating ideas, and offering non-formal art education programs.

What do you have upcoming?

Offering is a sum of maximalist dialogues between Lucian Barbu and Ana Kun, either bi or three dimensional, concentrated in several areas in Indecis in episodes of visual oversharing. They are based on actual conversations from the common space in the studio as well as on inner thoughts, exploring topics that occupy their minds, such as labor and exploitation in relation to mental health. Each work in the space is brought to the audience, as well as to the makers, as an offering towards more compassion, listening and creating. Some offerings, individually produced as invitation and response, take the form of a few soft installations, others are disguised as nine collaborative horror vacui drawings. The smaller, more compact ones, take shelter under glass, while larger ones embrace the space in shades of gray.
