With Nana Balint & Ilior Spătar
Indecis Collective
Indecis artist-run space invites you to a performance by Nana Balint and Ilior Spătar, in direct dialogue with the group exhibition Some Things Reach Out from the Soil, currently on view in the space. Text based on the idea of compost, part of the piece Can[not] say?, produced by C4Company. Recipe: Take a disturbing, controversial event, leave it to compost — let the little critters break it down from all sides, then let it macerate some more. In the next stage, take the remnants and recompose a whole — in a different form, of course. Place it in the mental oven, and out comes a fresh scene, just right for a performance. Bon appétit. 📍 Indecis artist-run space, Bastion 3 📅 12 iunie 2025 🕡 ora 20:00 C4Company is an independent theatre collective founded in 2022, born out of a need for free expression and experimentation. Their work focuses on political and social themes, with the aim of creating an alternative cultural space — currently hosted in a former industrial hall. The event is organized in partnership with the Municipality of Timișoara, through the Project Center.

What do you have upcoming?

“Some things reach out from the soil” brings together works and thoughts around compost – not just as a natural process, but as a way of thinking in loops: transforming, reusing, and reconnecting people, materials, and ideas over time. A shared ground where a lot has settled – and from which new things are now starting to grow. With works by: Nana Balint, Bianca Băilă, Lucian Barbu, Mimi Ciora, Florin Fâra, Ana Kun, Obreja Cosmin, Gavril Pop, Sergiu Sas, Arnold Schlachter, and Ștefan Tiron. You throw out something, and suddenly you get back something else, quite unexpectedly. Composting doesn't only consist of a biological process of decomposition and transfiguration, but in a profound metaphor for interconnectedness and reutilisation — a continuous process of transforming materials, ideas, energies. Those observational instances revive bits of a communal soil, composed of memories of the beginnings of time, of the mechanisms of the natural world, and the state of things, how they are visible now. “Some things reach out from the soil” is a reflection on the possibility of replacing narratives of progress with a model of ecological and circular thinking, where the common ground is also supported by a matrix of interconnectedness of the micro-macro community involved throughout the time in the life of an artist-run space. A quick sketch of the outline for possible other ideas, exhibitions, and, why not, new and better soils.
