Tell us about Fundatia Cosman.
One of the missions of the foundation is to sort, organize and classify documents, photographs and works of art that make up the Cosman family archives in order to create a catalogue raisonné of the work of the artist Octavian Cosman, as well as to make these documents available to researchers who wish to study the artist's work in historical, artistic and socio-cultural context.
Another important mission of the Foundation is to support contemporary artistic production and research in all fields - visual arts, literature, performing arts, cinema and new media - emphasizing a multi- and interdisciplinary approach to art and artistic creation. To this end, the Foundation offers artists and researchers its exhibition space as well as material and logistical support for the realization of projects in line with its aims and objectives.
Within its research center, the Foundation encourages artistic and scientific research of the highest level, focusing mainly on the following research axes :
Arts and science (with a special focus on medical sciences)
Art and spirituality
Art therapy and education
Documentation practices
Finally, the Foundation aims to act as a mediator between artists, theorists, cultural agents and various audiences by organizing meetings, conferences and other events aimed at opening new avenues of dialogue and understanding through art.
What do you have upcoming?
The exhibitions of UAD students from the departments of : Pedagogy of Fine and Decorative Arts, Painting, Graphics, Sculpture, Ceramics–Glass–Metal, Photo-Video, Conservation–Restoration and Textile Arts–Textile Design.
The opening will be on Friday, 12th of june at 6 pm, preview Thursday 11th of june between 6-9 pm. The exhibition runs until 21 june, opening hours: Monday - Sunday 5-7 pm.
