Lit From Within brings together painting practices grounded in a shared condition: the
emergence of form through the condensation of an internal intensity. What is at stake
here is a mode of pictorial construction in which form is not applied but extracted from a
pressure that precedes appearance and determines structure. In this context, painting
functions as the site where an internal necessity is articulated, while the surface becomes
the space in which that necessity acquires density, tension, and presence.
The common core of the exhibition lies in an understanding of painting as a medium
capable of sustaining an essential force without exhausting it in representation. What
matters here is the moment in which inner pressure reaches visual clarity and produces
its own coherence. Lit From Within addresses this internal logic of the work and its
capacity to generate radiance from within. The works inhabit a register in which intensity
coexists with fragility, honesty, truth, and an almost alchemical dimension.
The exhibition thus articulates a position on painting as a practice in which the image
remains the site through which an internal charge is transmitted and held. What unites
these works is their capacity to transform that charge into a visual presence that is
precise, dense, and alive. Lit From Within proposes painting as a space in which an
essential force becomes perceptible through form, while continuing to radiate through
and beyond the image itself.
